National Weather Service description (English): A supercell thunderstorm moved across the region from just to the northwest of Canyon and dropped hail from there through locations west of Canyon. A swath of hail from just to the east of Umbarger to a few miles west of Canyon occurred. These hail sizes ranged from one inch to three inches in diameter. Baseball size hail fell at the intersection of Arnott and Gordon Cummings Road. National Weather Service description (English): A cluster of thunderstorms developed along a stalled frontal boundary during the early morning hours of the 6th. These thunderstorms quickly intensified while moving to the east. As the storms moved north of the city of Canyon (Randall County), a member of the public reported tennis ball size hail (2.50 inches) 5 miles north of Canyon (Randall County). National Weather Service description (English): A supercell thunderstorm tracked through southern Randall County and produced a swath of large hail from up to seven miles northwest of Canyon, and through the city of Canyon. Hail initially was around ping pong ball size but grew larger as the storm went through Canyon, producing hail up two and a half inches in diameter in Canyon. With measured winds around 70-80mph, much of this hail was wind-driven and produced significant damage to roofs, siding and broke many windows.
